Jonathan Fournier

Jonathan Fournier

Cambridge, MA, US

Jonathan received his Bachelors in Architecture from Syracuse University in 2001, and soon thereafter joined Payette Associates in Boston. While working at Payette, his ambition not only provided diverse design opportunities ranging from theater design with Shakespeare & Company to master planning for The Aga Khan University. As a young designer, Jonathan not only handled more senior roles, but spent much of his free time promoting continuing education, and distinct volunteer experiences co-leading Payette's Young Designer's Core.

Following a meaningful and educational experience in Boston, Jonathan relocated to New York City joining one of the world's most influential and recognized design firms in Studio Daniel Libeskind. Over the course of nearly seven years, since joining SDL, Jonathan took on more of a leadership role as Project Architect working directly with the Principals in charge as well as Daniel Libeskind. He became a team leader coordinating high end international projects of various scales from concept design through construction including the recently completed Citylife residences that are part of the redevelopment of the historic Fiera Milano Fairgrounds in Milan.

As a change in scale and pace, Jonathan joined DXA studio in 2014 where, as a project manager, he gained great experience with residential design, client communication, NYC code, zoning, and the DOB process.

Shortly thereafter, Jonathan was contacted by the world renown design firm BIG- Bjarke Ingels Group, and accepted an exciting position as a Senior Architect. He quickly became the Project Leader for Google starting with the North Bayshore campus design, and moved on to manage the Google Charleston East project in collaboration with Heatherwick Studio in London.

In addition to his daily work as an architect, Jonathan has continued to donate his spare time to volunteering with the local and international community. Some of his most recent work has been spent with Architecture for Humanity's NY chapter, working with Respond & Rebuild following Hurricane Sandy in the Far Rockaways, and building homes in Chaom Trach village, Cambodia with RAW impact.
