I am currently in my final year of the graduate architectural program at Savannah College of Art and Design. The fundamental coursework during my schooling has enabled me to understand and successfully utilize the principles that serve as the key components to architectural design. Further preparing me for the future is my M. Arch thesis, 'Anatomical Architecture: Exploring Relations of Human Anatomy and Design.' This study is exploring the relationship of human anatomy and architectural ideals of serving the human body. With further understanding of human anatomy along with biomechanical studies, design can be altered to enhance the space and the users' functionality. The project is developing a soccer training facility through the exploitation of anatomical and biomechanical studies; providing an enhanced experience for the spectator and the athlete.
Further allowing me to succeed as a young designer are my past experiences. Most recently I won a competition to design and build a pavilion and gallery space for a fall 2015 SCAD Museum of Art exhibition; which will showcase the workings of furniture designer Dakota Jackson. Additional experiences through Felder & Associates along with FireFly Architectural Studio have granted me great opportunities to experience new responsibilities; further enhancing my knowledge and passion for the profession.
In the future I am hoping to work within a firm that will allow me to meld my creativity and energy together to develop efficient designs and conveying them through visually stimulating media. I understand the importance of accurately and consistently reflecting a strong visual message.
