During the past eight years I was in charge of the Design and Construction Office for the University of Puerto Rico (UPR). Main duties were to manage all aspects of the Capital Improvements Program for the UPR, which included the 10 campuses located through the Island of Puerto Rico. The program is very diverse and included 140 projects with an approximately budget allocation of 450 million dollars. I successfully finish and put into operation 110 projects. Management included all phases of projects development, procurment, construction, put into operation (turn key), building maintenance budgeting and energy saving strategies.
I have also worked in urban planning projects and strategies; fisrt as the Mayor of San Juan Urban Planning Aide, and further as Director of the Urban Planning Department of the City. This job included, among many other tasks, the management of the Capital Improvements Program (CIP) for the city of San Juan.
