About

Sergio Guerra
Who I am.

I graduated from Universidad del Valle de Mexico (UVM) in Guadalajara in 2012 with a degree in Architecture. While studying at UVM, I won first place in the student category at the Regional BIENNALE of Architecture in 2009 and at the 1st Interdisciplinary Congress of Architecture in Mazatlan, Mexico. Since graduation, I completed a Master Certificate in Project Management at the University of New Mexico (UNM) in Albuquerque, USA.

In 2010, I founded DA (DESIGNA arquitectos) and as a principal in my firm, developed more than 20 professional projects to date. I was part of the jury for the evaluation of the best students of architecture in the design class at ITESM Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in 2012 in collaboration with another architectural firm. Currently DESIGNA arquitectos is evolving into a place for innovative and intelligent young architects to work together collaboratively around Mexico and the world. We have been published in architecture magazines as Revista GEMA, Revista ArquiTK and AECCAFE.com.

I created and founded A30 Mexico, non-profit organization, and organized an event space where students take in presentations by renowned architects throughout
Mexico. Last year, our honored presenters included Javier Sordo Madaleno of Grupo SM. The A30 Mexico National Architecture Competition was initiated to offer an opportunity to learn from well-known plastic artists like Antonio Lopez Saenz as a way of combining fine art with architecture. The A30 Mexico works with other non-profit organizations to prevent family violence and directly help those who have suffered from such violence.

DESIGNA arquitectos currently has a portfolio of more than 30 professional projects in Mexico and the United States and won more than 10 national competitions. I have been a juror, guest teacher and public speaker in universities such as ITESM (Guadalajara), UVM (Guadalajara) and UAD (Mazatlan).

Through DESIGNA arquitectos and A30 Mexico, I continuously work to solve social, economic, and environmental problems through innovative design of the built environment.

Better cities, better life. TM
