The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations (EALC) offers a BA program in East Asian studies that introduces students to the traditional and modern civilizations of China, Japan, and Korea, and provides them with the opportunity to achieve a basic reading and speaking knowledge of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. This program is interdisciplinary and students may take relevant courses in both the humanities and the social sciences.

In additional to 6 years of Mandarin Chinese, and 1 year of Japanese, I have taken several history classes concerned with China, Japan, and Korea. I have been certified as Proficient with High Honors by the University of Chicago. I have also taken several higher level math classes (1 year Calculus, Math Methods for Social Sciences, and Linear Algebra). I have also taken Micro and Macroeconomics under Allen Sanderson, along with a Financial Accounting course at Booth School of Business.
