About 

John Carhart is a licensed architect with 24 years of experience working with some of the most  design-oriented firms in the country including Richard Meier & Partners, Krueck & Sexton Architects, Allied Works Architecture, Thomas Phifer and Partners, and Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects.   He has extensive design experience with many large-scale project types such as higher education, science & technology, cultural institutions, commercial, mixed use, and health care.   John believes strongly in the power of architecture to improve our quality of life and to promote positive social environments for all people.

John has been described as a self-motivated and independent thinker with a wide breadth of talents. John is a strong conceptual designer with a keen eye for composition and form-making.  He is also equally strong with detail development and documentation.  A thorough and conscientious architect, John has an undeniable passion for good design and architectural craftsmanship.

John is licensed to practice architecture in New York state and Oregon.

Condominiums in Manhattan, and the Cittadella Bridge in Allessandria, Italy. Additionally, I served as the Project Architect for a large-scale commercial development in St. Louis, Missouri.

My role at Allied Works was to collaborate directly with the firm's leader, Brad Cloepfil, on the Sacks Building, a groundbreaking mixed use building in Northwest Portland, and the Wieden & Kennedy headquarters building, a notable adaptive re-use of an existing historic landmark building.
