About 

I am currently self employed in Princeton New Jersey and have attained the desired experience in project types that I wanted to compliment my portfolio of projects, such as airline terminals, and NYC MTA rail and bus projects.

 

I have extensive experience in a number of project types such as interiors, retail, ecclesiastical, educational-primary & secondary, correctional, medical facilities, housing developments, transportation facilities as well as airline terminals and rail facilities. I have acted as project manager and project architect for all of the project types mentioned. My qualifications also include but are not limited to fee negotiation, client interaction, estimating, specification writing, and construction administration. I have a very well rounded knowledge of the profession with an ability to work and interact with other members of a firm and consultants easily and enjoyably.

Project Architect – Proposal writing in response to RFP’s, physical need assessments, feasibility studies, client interaction, construction documentation, team organization, cost estimating, contractor interaction, specification writing, site planning, public board of adjustment meetings.

As project architect I also participated in competition for the projects, developed fees, established construction budgets (soft & hard costs), programming, design, zoning and planning board appearances, consultant coordination, detailing, construction administration, punch lists, and project closeouts. My current clients include HUD, ecclesiastical projects and residential projects.

Ben Thompson Associates, Project Manager & Architect

Project Manager/Architect- provided direct support to the firm principal Ben Thompson on a daily basis and managed all of the projects in the office portfolio. Responsibilities included but were not limited to marketing, proposal writing in response to RFP’s, account receivables, fee negotiation, feasibilities studies, construction administration, specification writing, estimating, client and consultant interaction, and project manager /architect. I have also directed all of the firms building department interaction, resolved New York City Building Department issues and comments, led client/contractor arbitration. I played a critical role in projects owned by various agencies such as NYC Transit, HUD, MTA, LIRR, and New Jersey Transit, and the Newark Housing Authority.

My responsibilities included but were not limited to fee proposals, invoicing, man-hour allocation/tracking, state and local government approval process, construction administration, cost estimating, client and consultant interaction, team and individual work assignments, intercommunication and organization of the production document teams are all part of the tasks associated with being the project Architect

I established construction budgets (soft & hard costs), developed programs, design, zoning and planning board appearances, consultant coordination, detailing, construction administration, punch lists, and project closeouts. I might also add that there were approximately 15 active projects at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center that required my constant attention.

Corgan, Project Architect

Project Manager/Architect- British Airways terminal renovations; participated in numerous construction phases such as concourse and waiting area retrofit, including coordination of interactive electronic media design and installation. These items included information display systems, and coordination of all elements and consultants required to institute the overall design intent. Client and consultant interaction and organization of the production document teams were all part of my responsibilities.

One of the showcase projects while at Corgan Associates was the Super Sonic Transport Concord Lounge (British Airways) at Kennedy Airport. It was a first class 7,000 S.F. passenger lounge that included interior design, fabrics, dining flatware, furnishings, tarmac view of SST approach, and incorporation of rich materials and finishes.
