My career objective is to complement my academic achievements and researches with real life experience. I have recently obtained Master’s Degree in Sustainable Design of the Built Environment from The British University in Dubai, in association with Cardiff University, UK. I am a holder of bachelor degree in Architecture. During my studying period, I have undertaken research in various fields in environmental design and engineering such as:
I have also used computer simulation software, such as the IES-VE, for energy simulations. In addition, I have recently presented my dissertation research work on shading devices as a conference paper at the Sustainable Buildings 2013 Conference in Dubai, and received Best Paper Award. I have received also best students’ research award in MENA region, by Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC). These are few highlights on my academic experience:
Team UAE (Solar Decathlon Europe), Dubai, AE, Design Team Leader
SDE is an international competition between 20 Universities to build net-zero energy house using innovative solutions in solar energy. It promotes research in the development of efficient houses based on sustainable and passive design strategies. As Principal Project Architect, my tasks include:
o Concept design development based on environmental, economic and social analysis taking competition rules into considerations
o Project modeling and simulation with focus on sustainability applications and research
o Design team management with hand-in-hand coordination with MEP, structural and urban design disciplines
o Generate schematic design drawings and project manual data
o Meeting submittals deadlines and assist in presenting and marketing tasks
Brayan Group, Dubai, AE, Assistant Project Manager
o Coordinate with Project Manager or designated supervisor regarding concerns about construction progress
o Monitor contractor performance; insure adherence to terms and conditions of agreements
o Coordinate construction efforts and prepare for site inspections and quality control
o Coordinate permitting and make ready process
o Respond to inquiries from department personnel regarding assigned project status and assist in meeting work relating deadlines
o Generate project reports, in addition to maintain project files
o Be familiar with specifications, shop drawings, and submittals
o Draw and sketch details needed for planned construction

o Generate design layouts, schematic diagrams, shop drawings and conduits drawings
o Compile technical package and assure matching quality
o Assist in preparing comprehensive contract with detailed bill of quantities based on the finalized design
o Coordinate the on-site work and design execution, installation approvals, testing and commissioning
o Prepare As-built drawings and hand-over documentation

Being an architect in the design team, we had to accomplish the following tasks:
o Update and redesign existing building to accommodate the new functions; hotel apartment and shopping center
o Propose new facade and spaces design for the shopping centre and entertainment areas based on the new concept
o Prepare detailed layouts and shop drawings
o Design and solve internal traffic and connectivity with relation to the urban context
