Parantap is a young designer, educator and researcher located in Toronto. With exposure in multidisciplinary fields like Architecture, Interiors, Art and Computation; he has explored several design domains and collaborative processes. His personal interests focus on intersections between architecture & technology that spread across different scales and disciplines. He is currently investigating an on-going research on the use of augmented reality tools and data driven techniques to tackle design problems. He holds a professional Architectural design degree with distinction, conferred from CEPT University and has also received a Masters of Architecture degree from the the Emergent Technologies and Design programme at Architectural Association in London, UK.
Parantap's professional experience includes experiments and execution of design at various scales including buildings, spaces, products and installations in countries like UK, Canada, India & Germany. His work involves applications of generative algorithms, embedded systems, advanced digital fabrication,biomimetic approaches, evolutionary processes for multi-criteria optimisation and performance oriented design. He is currently heading a digital design studio at a the Faculty of design, OCAD University and has been invited for lectures and workshops at various institutes in North America, Europe and Asia.

Shortlisted Entry: ‘Outdoor Sculptures Competition, Amiri Diwan Kuwait’, Nomination
The competition was focused on designing a public sculpture for the Al Shaheed Garden as a part of Kuwait’s new urban expansion. My entry along with Jayant Khanuja of Algo design studio was shortlisted amongst the best design The sculpture was conceptualized as a synthesis of three processes like Actuation, Generation and Delusion. It comprehends the idea of transience and the philosophical ideology of Hylozoism; where all matter including the universe as a whole is viewed in some sense as alive.
Dean’s list as Best student in 5 years at Faculty of design, CEPT University,, Award
For being the best overall performing student in Academics at the Faculty of design, CEPT and attaining the highest GPA from my batch I was awarded the Dean’s list award in 2013.
Competition winner: ‘ 21st century design’: First five copies of the book, Dezeen Magazine., Award
As the winner of the competition I received the first copy of '21st Century design-New design icons from Mass market to Avant-garde' by Marcus Fairs; before the book was out in publications.
Best prize for Project-“Phyxis” in an Kiosk design competition held by Amul, 1st Place
The design brief was to conceptualize an Amul outlet at CEPT. The proposed design was a minimal, multi-usable shell where any program could fit in when needed and the architectural character of the structure was in coherence to the context. As the best entry the proposal won a cash prize as well as the project was built and executed at CEPT University.

For my overall performance in architectural studies as well as my involvement in other activities such as structure making, student administration and sports I was awarded the Smt.Kamlaben Gambhirchand Shah award in 2011.
Best prize for Project -“Transformer” at International Interior Design Workshop 2010, 1st Place
The Project was formulated for water Inspirations in future and Ideated with rationalizing multiple adaptation and functions which were fused with emerging technology. It was awarded best prize at the IID workshop at HFT-Stuttgart which was in cooperation with Birk GmbH, Germany with participating students from all over the world.
DAAD Scholarship (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst), Germany, Scholarship
For my consistent performance in architecture studies I was awarded a Scholarship to study at an International University for the best performance in three years of my academics by HFT .
Best Photography student, Honorable Mention
Was selected as the best photography student in a course which was a part of academic curriculum which included photography as art in different themes like texture, portraits, motion, context, architecture and Light. The work was displayed at a university exhibition.
