About

French « baccalauréat » holder in economic and social science, I studied in the national architecture and urbanism school of Sidi Bou Saïd (ENAU), Tunis, Tunisia. I completed my degree course by my graduation on the vulgarisation of the tunisian traditional housing, and its influence and implications on the contemporary way of living in Tunisia.

I often had the opportunity to train on individual or collective housing through my studies and work in the Old Medina Conservation Association. I think that analysing the way of living and the methods of contruction, to combine with it and operate a specific design for a specific use is the most interesting part of our work. I have always thought that we should learn how to design good houses before trying with any other building. I am convinced by the rigour, the relevance and the necessity of such an architecture, and I think this method should be enlarged to any other field.
I also had the opportunity to work in a tunisian agency specialised in offices design as project manager. I have lived and even encouraged the metamorphosis of the work places to a more rationalised system but most of all to a more socialised structure. This new sight on work places design is also the result of the social changing analysis which is always required in architecture.

I am particulary interested in working abroad because the remoteness of countries, the dislikeness of climate and way of living makes me wonder of how architecture could be thought in a different way. I think different countries can have many different factors, and so we can learn a lot in working abroad and even contribute with a different point of view.
