NYIT studio classes assigned projects to be completed from the start of the design process to the finish. The students were challenged to develop concepts and refine in accordance to the project at hand. As designers we were taught to think in three dimensions as well as two. Along with a thorough analysis of the concept was the compliance with ADA guidelines and the building code requirements of New York.
Other interior design classes included training in communication, the broad history of interior design and architecture, and an understanding of structures, furniture, business, manual and computer drafting, model making, and project management.
