Mr. Falconer joined Severud Associates as a Design Engineer in 1990. His body of work includes a wide variety of structural systems and materials such as: long-span, high-rise, structural steel, reinforced concrete, composite construction, precast concrete, masonry, timber, cold-rolled steel, aluminum, and glass. He has collaborated on many noted projects often using architecturally exposed structural materials. He advanced to the positions of Associate in 1997, Associate Principal in 2002, and Principal in 2007. Mr. Falconer authored the seismic structural load provisions of the 2008 Building Code, and was Chairman of the Masonry Chapter of the City of New York. He was President of the Structural Engineering Association of New York. Brian currently sits on the Structural Engineering Institute’s Seismic Effects Committee and Fire Protection and Structural Design For Fire Conditions Standard Committee.
