Hilda Hallén

Gothenburg, SE

My name is Hilda Hallén and I recently completed my studies at Chalmers Architecture in Gothenburg, Sweden. My mastersprogram is called Urban + Architecture / Design Laboratory. Here we had a significant focus on analysis and discussion, before zooming in on sites, buildings and details. During the spring I did my master thesis Dream of Tomorrow, here I explored central areas in Gothenburg that are soon to be developed. The work resulted in a design-and strategie-proposal with focus on social sustainability. The intention with Dream of Tomorrow is to demonstrate how social sustainability is vital in the urban renewal process aswell as from a long-term economic perspective.

For the moment I perform an artistic study of the modern society in relation to the historic environment. It is an investigation of the relation between the permanent framework for everyday life and the support this is for the dynamic and temporary citylife. The work will be presented in an exhibition in Karlskrona (Sweden) and hopefully also in Rome (Italy).
