In my designs, I decompose forms and functions and reconstruct them into new conceptually layered pieces. Designing from an inside out perspective, my projects intentionally employ a fusion of traditional and innovative elements, which is why my projects often feature juxtaposition.
Throughout various projects, the level of attention and commitment to my designs stem from being exposed to blue prints and job sites from a very young age, thanks to having a successful civil engineer as a dad. These experiences have influenced me to have a deeper love for design aesthetics; and although there may not always be similarities between the different projects, they are linked by recurring thoughtful process and distinctive inspirations. These experiences have influenced me to have a deeper love for design aesthetics.
I have about seven years of experience in the industry as an interior designer being proficient in AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Photoshop, Illustrator, construction documents, and Space Planning. I also have a great sensibility for FF&E selections and specs. I have lots of experience with custom furniture, kitchen and bathroom design. I am also acquainted with construction drawing document sets and job sites.
In addition to having a Management certificate in interior design from BCIT, a Diploma in interior design from The Art Institute of Vancouver, and a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from The Art Institute of California-San Francisco, I also have a Master of Interior Architecture from UCLA extension.
I don’t consider myself as an artist that will change the world, but I do consider myself as someone that can make small changes one design at a time; I hope to work with a design firm that focuses on impacting people’s lives for the better.
I have attached a copy of my resume to this email for you to review, you can also check out my online portfolio at www.shirinmirdamadi.com. I am looking forward to hear from you.
