"Architect, traveler and top-25-all-time-star-architect of Grand Designs"

Director of Powles Thomas Group (PTG) in the UK.

This is a group of companies that embraces design and architecture.

My experience, within architecture and the built environment, extends to designing a wide range of building types including: residential buildings, offices, hotels, hi-spec housing, commercial, education, culture, leisure, retail, church re-ordering work, civic and heritage conservation.

The quality of design carried out by my practice is recognised with some of architecture’s highest awards, including a RIBA Award, Conservation Awards and a Wood Award.

At a more personal level in 2006 I featured on Grand Designs, with Kevin McCloud, for my architectural work at Hillcott Barn – this program featured in the Montrose TV awards that year, and was also voted the top 25 Grand Design of all time.

I like to develop a ‘contemporary history’ philosophy, to enable project designers, architects and clients to collaborate on new buildings in the context of old.

My practice is currently seeking to recruit a number of key individuals to help us grow our business in London – if you would like to work with me do please contact the office direct.
