I recently returned from Albania where I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the small, coastal town of Orikum.
With a healthy appetite for travel and new cities, I am looking to find work as an interior designer in New York City or abroad.

I served as an Teacher of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) in the schools in Orikum, Albania. While my experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer does not seem to directly affect my work as a designer, it was monumental in shaping my professional values and passions. I also gained many of the skills and life experience that make me a more valuable employee. I know how to take initiative, how to build and maintain partnerships, how to seek out resources and effectively communicate with many different people. I was the first, and only, volunteer in my town and all of these skills were necessary for my success as a volunteer.
The greatest thing I gained, is a passionate and sincere desire to improve lives - especially those who need it most. As a designer, I believe I have the power and responsibility to do that through promoting healthy lifestyles, positively impacting my community, and setting the example of sustainable practices.

My education provided me with a strong foundation in fundamental design principles and all aspects of the design process which were strengthened during my time with Youngman & Company, Inc. Because it was only a three-person firm, I was highly involved throughout the entire design process during each project. I produced all drawings, participated in client meetings, site visits, and communication with contractors and clients.

Surveyed and produced “as-built” drawings of existing properties for listing purposes. These were mainly floor plans but also included interior and exterior elevations.

I worked as a sales associate for an upscale home furnishing store. I assisted customers with merchandise selection, space planning, and design advice. I also scheduled deliveries and received shipments.
