I am a Canadian architecture student currently looking for a short-term contract between May and September 2015.
I am in the process of completing my first M.Arch year at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Previously, I worked for a year under the direct supervision of architects Thierry Decuypere and Jorn Bihain at the acclaimed Bureau vers plus de bien-être (V+) office, in Brussels, where I have worked on projects on many scales and types – from apartment renovations to urban-sized studies, to public building competitions. It has been a fabulous experience, during which I obviously learned many invaluable lessons of practical architecture, but also was an integral part of a stimulating group.
I came to architecture through an atypical journey: first, as a mechanical engineer I worked on helicopters, race cars, and industrial combustion engines. Feeling incomplete, I searched for a discipline with greater focus on creativity, human connection, social commitment, tradition, and contradiction. As romantic as it may sound, I am moved by architecture and its potential to silently seep into the everyday lives of people and, by fulfilling their needs of protection and belonging, become their physical support.
I thus have a wide experience in various fields of fabrication and design. I am fluent in both French and English and can contribute with my skills and enthusiasm.
