About

Micah Sarut BA BArch Intl Assoc AIA RIBA
Managing Director

For Micah, architecture is a deeply passionate endeavour. From an early age there was no question what his life’s work would be. After working for nine years in various high-profile award-winning practices in Los Angeles and London and extensive world-wide travel, he founded Inter Urban Studios in 2009 with the primary goal to work with his clients to deliver outstanding, thoughtful, cost-effective, and environmentally-conscious modern design that exceeds all expectations.

Long before he began his studies at the University of Southern California and Waseda University, Tokyo, stewardship of the environment and the power of good design to change lives was a cornerstone of his focus as an architect. Although thankfully UK legislation is now becoming very stringent regarding sustainability, his utilisation of passive solar design and developing recycling or resource-efficient technology has been at the forefront of his skillset for many years. He has also utilised these skills to volunteer for Architecture for Humanity, developing a locally built, carbon-zero scheme for a community centre and football pitch in Keta, Ghana. Inter Urban Studios has continued in this direction with carbon-zero designs for a housing project in Haiti for people with HIV/AIDS, a private house in Harrow, and a visitor’s centre for the Cambridgeshire Great Fens.

In addition to the above driving factors, working in London has fostered a deep sense of history and context in Micah’s design approach. Working with his clients he examines each project through these lenses to reach a modern conclusion that is both a reflection of its surroundings and an innovative solution that creates completely unique and fabulously u
plifting spaces.
