President, Constructive General Contractors:
Prior to forming Constructive GC, Rick Fontenot acted as vice president of Urban Edge Developers. Joining Diane Cheatham, Rick led the site development of Urban Reserve, a cutting edge 14-acre sustainable neighborhood of 50 single family home sites. Working with over 20 architects, the team won multiple awards for design and sustainability measures. The project has been featured in publications including the Wall Street Journal, Green Business Quarterly, Architectural Record, Met Home, Texas Architect, Residential Architect, Modern Luxury, and the Dallas Morning News.
Rick was also partner in Constructive Modern which acted as general contractor for home construction within Urban Reserve. As developer, Rick assisted lot owners in architect selection and walked them through the design process to meet their goals including budgets and energy use. Acting as contractor, Rick managed all estimating, bidding, contracting and on site construction supervision to provide a seamless design-build process from lot purchase to move-in.
Rick acted as project leader on multiple LEED Platinum certified projects. With a multi-disciplinary background including Engineering & MBA degrees, semiconductor research and development at Texas Instruments, and professional accreditation in green building, Rick boils down sustainable strategies, products, and financials into clear simple summaries for homeowners to make the best decisions for themselves.
