I have had the privilege to travel around the world and have lived in 10 different countries to date. I am inspired by movement, having been a dancer my whole life. I thrive to create architecture that is alive, tells a story, and presents various emotions as if the architecture is now the performance.
I am passionate for architecture that is devoted to sustainable practices. I wish to work on architectural projects that are fully immersed in creating not only beautiful spaces but committed to sustainability, both in terms of performance and culture.
I am excited to begin this new chapter by joining a firm that values architecture reaching across boundaries and being a leader for a more sustainable future.
My projected graduation date is June 2016.
The Now Institute, Los Angeles, Graduate Student Researcher
Worked directly under the mentorship of Thom Mayne & Eui-Sung Yi to further the research at the Now Institute. Publication for the Grand Challenges through UCLA - Making LA Sustainable by 2050.
Managing tasks for a publication called “100 Buildings every architecture student should know”. Technical & Conceptual drawings as well as photography and compilation of projects.
Teaching assistant for Sci-Arc Thom Mayne Vertical Studio - Projects based in Haiti.
OPN Architects, Los Angeles, Architectural Intern
During my internship with OPN Architects I worked on the renovation of an existing Principal Financial office building in Des Moines Iowa. The given constraints of the building allowed me to not only learn about the interaction of structure, electrical and mechanical systems but to also understand the importance of adapting a building to stay relevant.
I was responsible for the completion of the RCPs as well as the schematic design for a large public central atrium.
Archest, Atyrau, KZ, Intern Architect
I worked with the branch manager in Atyrau, Kazakhstan.
Designed charrettes for the possibilities of river architecture in the city of Atyrau. Conducted site visits to the river to understand how the city fabric is separated from the edge of the river. Multiple renditions of creating pedestrian connections from the former European to the Asian border of the city.
Assisted in CAD drawings for building details for both Agip and Shell Projects.
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles, CA, US, MArch, Masters of Architecture & Urban Design
I am currently completing my graduate studies at UCLA in Thom Mayne’s Suprastudio. Being part of the NOW Institute has allowed me to tackle complex issues of sustainability as well as understand the application of new technologies and urban initiatives.
Academically, my mentorship under Thom Mayne has provided an extension to my architectural background to understand large scale urban design. In order to be a successful architect I believe it is important to think and comprehend problems both at a building and urban scale. This allows a building to be deeply rooted within its context and truly benefit the community.
