My graduate education and professional experience has helped me understand the challenges of sustainable development and the need for the necessary broadening of its perspectives at the scale of the complex urban fabric. I have completed coursework in Urban Ecological Design - examining the contributions of landscape planning in an urban environment. GIS for Planners, Urban Elements and Issues, and Sustainable Built Environment.
My master’s thesis studio was an applied research collaborative studio that dealt with the adaptation of cities in the wake of emerging technologies, Nanotechnology in particular. My proposal dealt with the issue of growing immigrant population and visualizing the probable settlement pattern. The aim was to foresee needs for growth and hyper-density and its eventual implications as a solution to Phoenix’s otherwise unsustainable growth pattern.
I hold a five year professional undergraduate degree in Architecture, and prior to joining the graduate program at ASU, I was part of an award winning architectural practice in India. In my former role as an Architect, I have worked in teams, leading some of those, and been a part of key decision making and problem solving on a wide variety of project types and scales. In addition, I was instrumental in achieving important project milestones, meeting clients and consultant requirements.
My professional goal is to work on projects that would help me extend my interests that lie in urban micro economics and ecology - local interventions that engage people with strategies of bringing ecology back into cities.
I am currently looking for job opportunities that will challenge me to learn, develop and formulate new ideas and strategies.

a) Phoenix 2050 ‐ Project funded by the CNS ‐ ASU Development Initiative. The project included comparative analysis and future visualizations of a sustainable Phoenix city by 2050. It was intended to study impacts of emerging nanotechnologies on a city, helping inform future urban design and planning strategies.
