I recently graduated from M.A. of Architecture and Urban Planning at Gdansk University of Technology. In the 2nd semester of my second cycle M. A. Studies I participated in the Erasmus Exchange Program at the University of Liechtenstein. In September 2011, I graduated from M.A. of Applied Mathematics at Gdansk University of Technology.
During my studies at two faculties I took opportunities to participate in different international workshops. This year I co-organized the Erasmus Intensive Program Poland 2012, Structures in Building Culture II. Knowledge learned from this international experiences has helped me boarded my skills and let me be more aware of the problems of the other cultures. I am effectively prepared for creative problem solving and working in international environment.
Focus of concern my Master Thesis Diploma was Schindler Award 2012 competition, with location in capital of Switzerland- Bern. I was working on revitalization project for Schutznematt- dilapidated district of the medieval city, with special concern to improving access and overall mobility for all. The whole conceptual project included masterplan, urban repair concept and architecture design in three different project scales. My proposal solution for the shortcomings of this complex environment was moving, flexible architecture. Main idea “slide to unlock” is expressing how city can be unblocked for all city dwellers, irrespective of their age, status or physical capabilities. Mobile elements by opening and closing create different access and spaces, depending on function or time, it’s give as a result at the same time safety and free movement. Concept of unblocking systems in I Phones was adapted to not only physical condition of the modern city to improve access, but also in mental level, like nonstop open library for all or promoting idea of CouchSurfing in residential buildings.
During designing process I pay attention to whom I am designing for, to future users of the space. Examples of my work demonstrate my interest in urban design, landscape design and urban public spaces. My hard working and manual skills, such as model making, sketching and hand drafting, allow to present my ideas in unique way. Master in Applied Mathematics has taught me also how to show complex solutions into simple and consistent representation.
The unique combination of my logical way of thinking with particular sensibility on modern design could improve your office with new fresh approach.
