Building Dreams School Project, Stockholm, Sweden, Founder

Building Dreams School Project

• Created curriculum (series of classes and workshops) for school aged children about sustainable living and the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Workshops start with discussion then ideas are translated from verbal to visual (conceptual art piece then an architectural model)
• Developed a color “language” so students’ art work and architectural drawings can be read visually through assigned pantone, RGB, and CMYK colors
• Created a workshop called Think Like An Architect during which children learn to think spatially then recognize and draw 3D objects in plan, elevation, and section views
• Working with 11 schools in Sweden and Africa (Burkina Faso, Sudan, and South Africa)
• Liaison between Swedish architecture students and schools to coordinate a workshop where architecture students teach school children how to represent their ideas in an architectural model
• Continuing to create more classes to teach the remaining UN Sustainable Goals

• Developing a sustainable city model by rethinking how architecture, urban planning and landscape design can affect changes in inhabitants’ physical and mental health, social interaction, and community engagement
• Researching urban agriculture, vertical indoor gardening, social sustainability, and current and historical examples of communities with higher levels of social engagement
• Responsible for creating building and community sustainable requirements to be adhered to by architectural firms selected for buildings and neighborhoods (began process)

• Developing “sketchy” building prototypes to be used to visualize how Hubville's urban planning and architecture will differ and evolve from typical builds

• Analyzed pieces in RISD’s permanent collection being considered for Stranger Than Paradise, an exhibition of work from 610 B.C. through today, illuminating man’s changing relationship to nature
• Researched provenance and exhibition history of collection being offered for donation to RISD Museum
• Researched topics and information for curator related to articles he was writing
• Compiled list of potential RISD alumni for curator to suggest to mayor to be approached for public art projects for the city of Providence

• Took over twelve projects from Wynn Design and Development (WDD) after design concept phase. Developed custom items: lighting, wallpapers, carpets etc.
• Completed eight FFE project deadlines, over 5,000 pages of specifications
• Developed and maintained budgets for 12 spaces totaling over $70M in FFE
• Worked with CAD team to develop gaming tables and pit podiums based on Operational Requirements
• Worked with HBA Cad team to develop 40+ custom lighting fixtures based on Wynn renderings
• Created templates for every category and sub category of Wynn specs including necessary fields, submittals, and notes to ensure that junior designers could write complex custom specs
• Trained 11 new hires on HBA and Wynn procedures
• Created Spec Indexes and various tracking documents for above spaces
• Acted as liaison for Interiors team between HBA and Wynn
• Admin for Spec Source while in beta stage customizing for HBA. Worked with programmer to make modifications to software & reports, set up custom specs for WDD, and create different access levels

• Partnered with Jennifer Siegal of Office of Mobile Design in Venice, CA to create a designer showcase in at the new live/work lofts created on the site of the former Cherokee Recording studios. Each loft was inspired by an artist who recorded there.
• Sponsors included Knoll, Limn, Cisco Brothers, Sean Knibb Designs, Amenity Home, Matin Gallery
• Showcase benefitted Habit for Humanity.
• Filmed for NBC’s Open House. Aired January 2010
• Filmed for Indigo Documentary on Green Design.
• Product shown in Interior Design and California Home and Design magazines.

VIP 3 & 4 (Macau, July 2009) - Main Gaming Salons, Reception Lounges, Private Gaming Salons, Private Dining Room, and VIP Restrooms

• Responsible for selecting and specifying all FF&E for VIP Casino, Private Gaming Salons and Private Dining Room at Wynn Macau
• Designed custom pieces (e.g. artwork, furniture, carpet, accessories)
• Developed itemized FF&E budget (approved at $2.2M).
• Created color boards, material reference binders and loose samples

Wynn Encore (Las Vegas, December 2008)
• Tracked FF&E items for Wynn Encore Back of House (BOH), 334,000 sq. of space budgeted at $5.5M.
• Specified FF&E and organized installation for BOH spaces
• Developed itemized budget (approved at $5.5M.) and brought project in below budget.

• Negotiated terms for exclusivity and co-op advertising agreements with major international design lines such as Cassina, Vitra Design Museum, Knoll, Moooi, Flos, Edra, Jonathan Adler and Kartell.
• Created and scheduled “Mojitos and Modernism”, a monthly design event bringing in internationally and nationally recognized people in the design field for lectures, book signings and industry meet and greets. Guests included Charles Hollis Jones, Jonathan Adler, Jennifer Siegal, Simon Doonan and Sam Bowden of Kartell.
