My experience in Atlanta’s high-end residential design market is extensive. Over the last twenty-five years, I have led my own residential design firm: RGROVE Design Studio, Inc and worked for the following award-winning Atlanta Designers: Spitzmiller and Norris, William T. Baker, and Keith Summerour. A house of my design (within my own company) was chosen as Atlanta Magazine’s Dream Home for 2007. Please see the November issue (2007) or my website: www.rgrovedesign.com. As a sole proprietor, and also within my 15 years with Spitzmiller and Norris, I have conducted many design projects from initial client interviews through completed construction. I am familiar with building codes and accessibility as they relate to residential design. Similarly, my experience is almost exclusively concerning wood construction.
I am proficient on AutoCAD. I have worked in AutoCAD since 1997, and drew on the board for 14 years prior to that. I have developed a system of custom commands for two-dimensional drafting in AutoCAD that facilitates coordination between drawings. It is currently used in at least four offices around Atlanta. I am strong in spatial reasoning and am very good with complex roof plans and the design of interior architecture. I am also proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. I have a working knowledge of Sketchup, and can do hand sketches, even fine art.
William T. Baker and Associates, Atlanta, GA, US, Project Manager
As Project manager, I was given sketches of first and second floor plan and front elevation by fax or email. Working at home, I would then independently design roof, other three side elevations, interior elevations details, sections and electrical plans.
RGROVE Design Studio, Inc., Roswell, GA, US, Principal, Designer
Running this firm as a one man studio, I handle all design, drafting, administration, marketing and client interaction. A house of my design was chosen and toured as Atlanta Magazine's Dream home for 2007. Through this corporation I have subcontracted work with William Baker, Keith Summerour, Johnna Barrett and Fredrick Mozzo. They were all aware of my private practice.

As Project manager, I was given sketches of first and second floor plan and front elevation. I would then independently design roof, other three side elevations, interior elevations details, sections and electrical plans. I would often interact with clients and builders and inspect construction as it progressed.

Designer of Atlanta Magazine's Dream Home 2007, Other
Before it was constructed, a house that I designed for a private client was chosen by Atlanta Magazine to be it's "Dream Home" for 2007. This distintion is made only once each year. The home is toured for a month and featured in the magazine. This particular home was built overlooking East Lake Country Club.
