About

Experienced in adobe architecture and earth building material, Timothy Brown began his architect’s career 30 years ago.  A skilled artist, Mr. Brown started as a draftsman, sketching & developing plans for well-known southwestern architects such as Bennie Gonzalez and William Tull.  His early design work can still be seen throughout the city of Phoenix.  Mr. Brown also trained with the premiere multi-family design firm, Acanthus Architecture, working as their project manager and designer.  Licensed in 1992, Mr. Brown branched out on his own and his experience now includes over 75 projects across the state of Arizona, and ranges from $7 million dollar luxury homes in exclusive neighborhoods to $10,000 small scale off-grid homes, as well as institutional buildings and multi-family properties.  Mr. Brown’s design philosophy is based on the idea that good design should be affordable and within reach of everyone.  His interest in earth building materials and alternative energy sources reflect his on-going commitment to finding affordable, energy efficient design elements.  His most recent projects include the historic relocation of the Sandra Day O’Connor House to Papago Park at the Arizona Historical Society Museum in Tempe.  Mr. Brown was also recently involved in the construction of Spaceport America in the high desert of central New Mexico.
