As a recent graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder’s Environmental Design program, I am seeking a position as an intern architect within an architecture firm that is committed to quality practice of architecture and the development of their interns. I am excited to begin applying my schooling to the professional practice of architecture.
I have a passion for design, drawing and architecture. While studying abroad in Italy for a semester I experienced first-hand what so much of our architectural design theories are based on. Throughout the rest of my experience at CU Boulder I was exposed to a wide variety of architectural design and theory.
Now that I am out of undergraduate school, I am excited to move into the professional practice of architecture before going onto pursue a Master of Architecture and eventually licensure. It is important to me that I gain experience within a firm before earning a master’s degree. Not only to begin fulfilling the requirements of the Intern Development Program, but to also take all the experience I will have working in a firm and be able to apply it to classes in graduate school.
Since graduation, I had the opportunity to work as the head aquatics manager at the City of Boulder Recreation Centers. I’ve learned valuable interpersonal skills, management skills and even an in depth understanding of building systems specifically related to the pool and pool pump room. I’ve also expanded my architectural skill set by earning a CAD certificate at Arapahoe Community College.
I am excited to begin this new chapter and bring my skills and experiences from school and work into the practice of architecture while learning how to work in professional practice.
