The practice of interior architecture offers a multidisciplinary approach to the design of habitable spaces. It combines a variety of fields including architecture, furniture and product design. This is a relatively new discipline, and is an expanding area of study in Ireland and the UK. IT Sligo is the leading educational provider in this field in Ireland – offering the only built environment design course focusing on developing expertise in the re-use, refurbishment and repurposing of existing buildings. The course is unique, drawing on expertise in architecture, design and construction.
