• Participated in pilot LEED EBOM Adopt-a-School-Program. WEp1 - Surveyed existing plumbing fixtures and performed calculations to assess the efficiency of indoor plumbing fixtures to determine how much potable water is consumed relative to LEED baseline.

• West Suburban Membership Chair coordinating membership activities and participating in the planning of chapter networking and educational events.

• Performed analytical historical and current building code comparative review to determine required “like kind and quality upgrades in fire loss project. Identified 13 distinct life safety areas requiring upgrades in $75 million insurance claim.

• At the request of the General Contractor performed a building failure forensic investigation to determine the root cause of water penetration in building envelop through static pressure difference testing not identified by a previous forensic consultant. Provided report prescribing corrective measures to ensure water tightness.

• Shortened project schedule by approximately four week through self-certification and alignment of the permit application with the city of Chicago’s green building initiatives for new Blue Cross Blue Shield processing center.

• Interfaced with municipal authorities having jurisdiction in the adoption of new building code and annexation agreement for new 781,000 s.f. headquarters for The Pampered Chef. Project awarded 2002 “Build-to-Suit Project Team of the Year” by Greater Chicago Food Depository/Chicago Commercial Real Estate.

• Collaborated with building code and fire prevention district officials in the development of new 410,000 s.f warehouse and distribution facility for 3M. Negotiated upgrades in fire separation, exit travel distance, sprinkler coverage and ventilation requirements for storage of hazardous materials and aerosol products.

• Reviewed and coordinated all design consultant deliverables. Ensured compliance with project specifications and design intent of new 457,000 s.f. warehouse and distribution center for Anixter, the first such facility in the State of Illinois to achieve LEED Certified rating. Project awarded 2007 AIA Northeast Illinois Excellence in Architecture “Distinguished Building” award.

• Developed standard details and graphic standards to reduce errors and omissions in the production of construction documents.

• Partnered with the Construction Manager to issue fast-track bid packages for the 400,000 s.f. Dean Witter / Morgan Stanley Headquarters build-to-suit project, the largest commission to date for NWS Architects. Shortened overall project schedule by an estimated four months.

• Managed 400,000 s.f. corporate interiors project from schematic design through close-out. Project included full service cafeteria, health club, and corporate headquarters.

• Interviewed, hired, and managed all activities performed by the full time on-site architectural representative for the Dean Witter/Morgan Stanley Headquarters project.

• Served as Retail Finishout Coordinator preparing and coordinating all tenant improvement construction documents and signage drawings for multiple shopping centers. Maintained Master Rental Plans for each shopping center providing leasing agents with current vacant space areas and configuration.

• Participated in full scale laboratory performance testing of air and water infiltration of custom pressure equalized rainscreen building envelop system. Additional structural deformation and and pull-out testing curtainwall of tie backs performed to point of failure.

• Performed all construction administration duties including conducting bi-weekly construction observations for 19 story speculative office building and 6 level parking deck.
