My architectural education began at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne when studying Architectural Studies (RIBA Part I). Here I received a well rounded introduction to architecture which has been built upon with subsequent education at the Manchester School of Architecture (MSA).
While studying at the MSA I have developed a strong interest in urbanism and developed an understanding of the workings of the city, having completed my MA thesis, entitled "Metamorphosis in Manhattan" which explored the theoretical, physical and social change of Manhattan's form over a fifty year period.
This knowledge and interest was further expanded when studying within the Continuity in Architecture Studio (BArch, RIBA Part II) where historic examples of city pattern, use of materials, and architectural form provided a starting point for my projects.
