About

I have been a licensed architect in California since 1989, and started my own very successful architectural design firm in 2000. The past two years, however, have been difficult and scarce of projects. I am looking to join a quality architecture firm to continue in my proffession and hopefully provide the benefits of my experience.

I believe that participation in community service can be personally rewarding and important to the development of social compassion and responsibility.

I have a strong commitment to helping companion animals in need, and have been a founding executive board member for two non-profit animal rescue organizations, Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort (2001) and The Ark of San Juan (2008).

I have been a member of the Design Review Committee for the City of San Juan Capistrano since 2000, and a member of the Planning Commission for the City of San Juan Capistrano since early 2011.

Employment

Parkhurst Architecture, San Juan Capistrano, CA, US, Owner and Architect

II am currently the Owner and Architect for Parkhurst Architecture, an architectural design firm specializing primarily in premium single family custom residential projects. I started Parkhurst Architecture in June of 2000, and have produced high quality Autocad design and construction document plans for projects in some of south Orange County’s more desirable communities. These include Sunset Beach, Newport Beach, and Huntington Harbor, with the majority of projects over the past 8 years being in the Shady Canyon development in Irvine.

As a sole proprietor I have been responsible for and completed all phases of the projects in my office. This includes conceptual sketches and design development with conditional use permit, coastal development permit, and association design guideline approvals. I have produced on Autocad the preliminary design plans, as well as the construction documents and details for these projects. I am very familiar and proficient with the production and coordination of civil and structural engineering plans and details. I have also been responsible for city plan check approvals, as well as construction observation and coordination with the general and sub-contractors.
