I graduated from the University of Kansas with a Masters degree in Architecture in 2011. While working part-time and participating in MASP, I earned a 3.2 GPA as an undergraduate and a 4.0 GPA as a graduate student. What inspires me about architecture is the depth of creativity and the insight of visions. While in school I was presented with a variety of projects and scopes of architecture and as my exposure grew, so too did my appetite to learn more.
The project that most resonated with myself was our study abroad project in which we had to examine a city in Malaysia and determine through architecture what the city needed. Where some might have gone grand, I sought to pull from the very context of the city and connect my design through key cultural aspects. I am a hard working individual that is willing to put in the long hours to make sure that the job gets done. Through my part time experience I have gained insight into understanding what a customer wants and how to explain otherwise if unavailable. I love learning and am always willing to try new things or accept new opinions.
I am convinced that I would be a valuable talent to any company team and would welcome the opportunity to discuss a position in more detail. Currently I am working two jobs, one at Target and the other at Best Buy, and will be able to be reached at ponder.caitlyn33@gmail.com. I am also on LinkedIn at www.linkedin.com/pub/caitlyn-ponder/27/497/994.
