About 

My name Is Sam Davis, I am an architectural thesis student at New York Institute of Technology graduating in May of 2014. I currently work for Tekton Architecture, a small firm in Baldwin New York. I have experience working with both large and small scale projects, from multi-million dollar homes in the Village of Southampton, to various commercial buildings in Queens and Manhattan. I have a passion for architectural graphics, and I am constantly expanding my skills and improving my presentations.  I am seeking employment directly after my graduation in May and believe I would make an excellent addition to any firm.

Tekton Architecure is a small firm located in Baldwin New York that is focused on interdisciplinary solutions for both commercial and residential applications.

As an Intern Architect I am tasked with a variety of challenges on a daily basis. From rendering exterior elevations to pulling permits though the New York City Building Department, I am involved in every step of the project. By working closely with the firms Principals I have learned valuable skills that are applicable to projects of any scale.

On a daily basis I am tasked with;

- Measuring existing structures and creating plans from scratch.
- Working with, and modifying existing construction documents.
- 3D modeling and Rendering.
- Code compliance and misc. research.
-Creating Mill work and shop drawings
-Coordinating with contractors

Fire Alarm Specialty Design (FASD), Windham, CT, US, Project Manager

As the Drafting Manager and Special Projects Manager for FASD, I take the responsibly for all of the drawings and design documents that leave our office. I train new drafters in the proper use of Autocad and other Autodesk software, as well as how to complete a successful set of construction documents. I also handle special projects that more recently have been my main focus. Special projects include, Fire evacuation floor plans for older buildings where construction documents cannot be found, Building modifications and built additions and finally the design and project management of a Hydro-static test facility at our new facility.

FASD is a limited liability corporation, with under 20 employees, I used my experience from working for ACT Assoc. and applied big company professionalism and standards to bring FASD up to speed. Fire alarm specialty design is a young company, less then a year old when i was hired as one of only 4 employees. In four years time the company has expanded and my drawings have become a key part of the companies image of professionalism.

ACT Associates is an audio visual consulting firm that designs systems for large corporations. My duties as a drafter included reading and interpreting construction documents, drafting and modifying existing drawings and generating new details and specification sheets for products to be incorporated into the final build.

While Working for ACT, I learned valuable CAD skills, the importance of time management and how to correspond with architects, engineers and other consultants.

I worked for act associates during my senior year of high school and for one summer after my freshman year of college.
