I am a recent graduate from the five-year bachelor of architecture program at the University of Oklahoma. Having completed an internship in Oklahoma and traveled nationally and internationally I am now interested in moving to a new and exciting city to begin my professional career.
During my internship in the architectural firm at SAIC, I was responsible for working on schematic design, design development, and construction documents. Through this experience I developed proficiency with BIM software, Revit, and an understanding of construction administration and the submittal process. Moreover, I worked collaboratively with other departments including interior design and landscape design. In addition to Revit, I am also proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Sketchup.
As a student in the College of Architecture, my professionalism and maturity has earned me the trust of my Professors who nominated me to serve as a student representative on University wide committees. My fellow students have also entrusted me with leadership positions on multiple occasions. Through these experiences, along with my internship, I have learned time management, organization skills, and more than anything gained a desire to learn and try new things. I have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
As an emerging designer I am committed to the search for new and better ways of building more sustainably. I have completed coursework on LEED and am preparing to take the LEED examinations in the next three weeks. My studio projects have also gained recognition: my design for a worldwide Holocaust memorial competition won a competition held at school and my design for the National Weather Center Museum was chosen to be published online.
