Sang Jae has been a principal architect, senior project architect as well as an educator during his architect career. He has been responsible for designing, managing construction documents and coordinating consultant services and field supervision. 

Upon receiving Korean Government Scholarship in the field of Architecture, he pursued architectural education in United States. He holds a Master (II) in Architecture and Urban Planning degree from University of California in Los Angeles. He currently is a member of American Institute of Architects, Registered Architect (MA, NH, RI, NJ, CO & VA), National Council of Architectural Registration Board and the Boston Society of Architects.  

Over the 30+ years of working in architectural field, Sang Jae has gained multicultural experiences by working at firms located in three different countries (South Korea, Canada, USA). He completed various architectural projects including high-end single family residences, large scale mixed-use development, high-rise residences, commercial complexes, institutes, offices, hospitals, churches, museums, etc.

Not only did Sang Jae pursue his goals as an architect, but he also aimed to inspire other young architects through education. In his native country South Korea, he dedicated to the development in Korean architectural field with publications and the creation of BSJ, a leading Educational Institute for Architects in South Korea. His institute found success for it produced the highest number of licensed architects by the Architectural Institute of Korea. He taught Architecture & Urban Design Theory and Methods at Seoul architectural organizations and large-scale architectural firms. 

With his various practices in multicultural environments, Sang Jae brings classical architectural theory and practical applications into a hybrid-relationship with the spatial and diverse cultural contexts. By prioritizing the fulfillment of green design requirements and the critical criteria of decision making, Sang Jae aims to maximize the spatial efficiency, productivity and sustainability in his designs.

I have over 30 plus years of multinational experience in working on diverse projects including high-end single family residences, high-rise residences, commercial complexes, hospitals, educations, churches, and museums. With my various practices in multicultural environments, I bring classical architectural theory and practical applications into a hybrid-relationship with the spatial and diverse cultural contexts. I work on large, complex and luxurious multifamily, mixed-use, education, government, retail, hospitality and commercial development projects involving client contact and leadership responsibilities. My responsibilities are architectural design and development, construction document & administration for projects involving construction of new buildings and the alteration of existing buildings and facilities. Working closely with a high-performing team to support other services and managing the technical coordination and project scheduling of all phases of a project from concept through construction are my essential roles. I have responsible for coordinating and detailing technical solutions regarding design, fabrication and installation, monitoring installation and performing completion reviews, and Interfacing with Regulatory Authorities and inspectors concerning code compliance.

Manages construction projects from the conceptual design phase through completion of construction. Leads teams of architectural & interior design, engineers and contractors while meeting directly with clients to develop and execute medium to large-scale projects according to schedule and budgets.
Balances active architectural duties with a leadership role in both designing and producing building plans and construction documents & administrations while overseeing building design and construction during the project lifecycle.

I received a Master of Architecture from University of California, Los Angeles in 1988 with a Korean Government Scholarship.

With over 30 years working in the architectural field, I have expertise in a variety of architectural projects including: high-end residence, large scale mixed-use development, high-rise residential, commercial, corporate facilities, hospitality, health care & general hospital facilities, schools & universities, church, museum, building rehabilitation and public participation processes. As a Principal, I am responsible for overseeing architectural projects from design through construction. My practice is built on understanding and achieving clients’ goals by developing architectural solutions that balance a high level of design integrity and regard for pragmatic concerns.
