Throughout my professional and academic careers, I have worked to develop a holistic approach of progressive environment- and experience-design based on research with respect to emotional connection and the exploitation of technology. My design passion is for performance--both human and genuine sustainability. An example is my research in psychology and architecture, notably my thesis work. Starting with the goal of reaching the strongest emotional connection to one’s surroundings, I turned to psychology and the scale of industrial design, coming across the concept of flow—that of when one is so mentally absorbed with the current activity that the boundary between environment and inhabitant becomes transparent—during my research. My thesis "Immersive Environments" manifests Dr. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s concept architecturally—a concept useful with respect to comfort, inspiration, and concentration.
I have over four years of experience in professional architectural practices, including working directly with Peter Eisenman; my design experience ranges from residential to corporate interiors to complex laboratories, from creating and carrying out presentations to heading the production of complete construction document sets, and from the small town of Port Washington, Wisconsin, to Doha, Qatar. I was a part of an award-winning team whose theoretical work was recently featured in the 2013 AIA Center for Emerging Professionals Annual Exhibition. Along with my wide range of experience, I have very strong visual and technical skills in hand-drawing and a number of software, including BIM and environmental analysis.

Perkins+Will Innovation Incubator Research Grant, Grant
Awarded a second micro-grant to further my first Innovation Incubator research grant focused on measuring how the built environment affects one's creativity, collaborating with the P+W Human Experience Lab and acousticians. Continuing my work with Richard Brink, director of acoustics at Genesis Planning, we will also work with the P+W Fab Lab to design and measure acoustical interventions for the P+W San Francisco office to improve its current noise and privacy issues.
