I am currently a senior attending East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina and will graduate with honors in May 2012 as I achieve my Bachelor of Science in Interior Design with a minor in Business Management. I am a student member of the American Society of Interior Design and the student secretary of the National Kitchen and Bath Association.
Through extensive coursework at East Carolina, I have developed a great knowledge and passion for both residential and commercial design. Course projects I completed have entailed programming, space planning, and design development as well as selections of finishes and furnishings. This past summer I had a full-time internship at Jeffrey Beers International, a hospitality design firm in New York, New York. At Jeffrey Beers International I researched and recommended furnishings and finishes for multiple hospitality projects such as Philly Live, the Westin Hotel Times Square, and the Plaza Food Hall Expansion. In addition, I handled communication with manufacturer representatives and managed the resource library. The combination of my educational foundation at East Carolina University and my involvement in professional projects at Jeffrey Beers International has granted me a better understanding of interior design through the perspectives of both design and business.
Although I am originally from Richmond, Virginia, my ultimate career goal is to reside and work in the New York City area. I look forward to working in what is one of the most established and prominent cities for the field of interior design. I wish to dedicate my time and talent to provide interior design services with an exciting and innovative approach.
