My name is Brian Milbury and I started Milbury Architects, Ltd. in 2001 to provide the best experience for my clients throughout the entire process of working with an architect and building your project.
My experience comes from some great mentors and well known firms. As a project designer for Village Architects, Inc. in Key Biscayne, Florida, I spent several years designing high-end, custom homes and worked with an array of design styles and unique building conditions. After leaving Miami for Chicago, my original home, I became a project architect for the award winning firm of Morgante Wilson Architects, Ltd. where I designed custom homes, multi-family residences, and mixed use buildings. After six years, I decided to undertake my own practice and path.
I have kept my firm small in order to devote my utmost attention to your project - from the initial design throughout construction. By providing a single contact person to create the design and construction drawings and perform site observations, we are able to bring your dreams to reality in an efficient, streamlined manner.

Creating exceptional designs through detailed construction documents, my portfolio ranges from historic renovations to new construction custom single family homes, estates, multi-family condo’s and townhomes. Working as a sole proprietor, I have projects in Illinois, Michigan, Florida and St. Thomas USVI.
• Supply full design-build services, acting as the construction manager, from design through construction completion. Responsible for budget, schedule, means and methods, and contractor coordination.
• Provide complete custom interior design services, including detailed design and interior drawings, material and finish selections, sourcing and purchasing.

Works include a 55,000 square foot residential mid-rise at 1515 North Wells, Chicago, the renovation of a 20,000 square foot masonry church into luxury residences in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood and a multitude of custom single family and multi-family residences.
• Project manager and architect responsible for multiple projects and heading project teams, with responsibility for building design, client contact, team production, multiple project organization, production of construction documents, and site observation.
• Construction manager on single-family residences, responsible for daily supervising and scheduling of trades and job site layout of design intent, as well as for pricing and bidding jobs and purchasing.
• Introduced and implemented the firm’s computer system and AutoCAD standards. Responsible for AutoCAD policies and management, as well as computer system management and maintenance.
