About

I began discovering my interests in design early in her childhood years. My mom told me I was doodling churches and houses on our living room walls at the early age of 3.

It was while drawing a fictional house for one of my old comicbook stories during senior high that I realized I wanted to pursue a career in designing for the built environment. I was sent to school two years earlier than most children my age, so I graduated from high school at the age of 15. I initially pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Architectural Design in 2005, but transferred courses to acquire a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture six months later. I got my degree in February 2010.

Upon graduation, I trained as an apprentice under Arch. Christopher dela Cruz, and worked intensively on projects commissioned by local and foreign clients.  I handled project conceptualizations, presentations, design development, and production of construction drawings per project.  My designs featured large windows and minimal colours, and renewable materials were used as much as possible.  During this time, I also joined the Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC) as a project coordinator for the Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence (BERDE) Green Building Rating System --- the Philippines' local rating scheme. It was at the PHILGBC that I met a lot of people and I learned most of what I know today about green building and sustainable design.

I passed the Philippine Licensure Examination for Architects in January 2012, and since then, I've become an architect and a research geek, all at once. At present, I do the usual architectural work for both conventional and sustainable designs for buildings and houses and, at the same time, work with the PHILGBC on assisting cities in the Philippines establish their green building legislation programs.

I travel, sketch, write, or play the guitar in my free time. Also a big fan of cookies.
