I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay with my B.A. in Urban and Regional Studies. During my time in this program I have learned how to analyze comprehensive and zoning plans. Use certain techniques to access current hierarchical structures and learned the importance of knowing the demographic of a region before any actions are carried out. This last summer I had the opportunity to travel to Tena, Ecuador for an Internship with the University. I had the chance to practice what I had been learning in the classroom in the real world. My responsibility during the internship was to help develop a hierarchical structure and visioning process in which the developing cities within the canton would fit. I have also worked with a local community in the reorganization of their comprehensive and zoning code. Allouez in a small bedroom community just outside of Green Bay, a lot of their code was out of date and not cohesive with their zoning practices, so as a class we worked together to develop recommendations on future changes.
