In July of 2011 I was selected by the Utah Department of Workforce Services as a participant in the State Energy Sector Partnership Program. The purpose of the SESP grant was to develop the workforce and create jobs in emerging energy efficiency and renewable energy industries. I earned a Basic Energy Certificate (209 hours) August 2012. This training provided me with the foundational knowledge necessary for success in the energy industry, and included the following courses:
• Energy Essentials
• Computer Literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and website development)
• Math for the Energy Industry (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry)
• Basic Electrical Theory
• Technical Writing
• OSHA 10-hour Safety Course
• CPR/First Aid
After completion of the courses above, I went on to complete 135 hours of coursework in Basic and Advanced Solar, making me eligible to take the NABCEP entry level exam.
During this training, I was employed by Touch Green Energy Solutions, where I provided free lighting audits on hotels/motels in Utah. In the few months that I was there, I worked with Rocky Mountain Power to complete five projects and expedited collection of rebates, with an average energy savings of 20%. In addition to the above coursework, I have:
• 5 years of professional experience as a Graphic Technician I, where I provided graphic and mapping support for the Contra Costa County Planning Department in Martinez, CA.
• Over 12 years computer usage, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, internet research, data entry and correspondence.
• 2 years of experience using AutoCAD to design playgrounds and for fabrication of graphic signage.
My credentials include LEED Accredited Professional, Building Design and Construction, which is recognized by USGBC, and is a driving force behind the green building movement and that demonstrates my commitment to supporting green building design, construction, and operations. I am also familiar and knowledgeable in the Cal Green Building Code, and the National Electrical Code.
I am confident that my expertise would benefit your organization. I would be happy to talk to you further regarding my qualifications and how I could benefit your agency. Thank you for your attention.
Sincerely,
Dana Dake
As you can tell from my picture, I am the outdoorsy type, and enjoy snowshoeing and skiing. While I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area I was an avid sailor.
