About

I graduated with a bachelor of science in Architecture at the University of Cincinnati and currently work as a Lighting Designer in Atlanta, GA, focusing on large-scale hospitality and educational projects.  I am eager to move away from lighting to pursue a more research based, conceptual field where I can delve into the theoretics of architecture and design.  My interests vary, but currently I would like to focus on the development of pure science as a tool for design.

At my firm, my primary function is that of a graphic designer.  I enjoy this work and would be interested in pursuing it further.  I am also sharpening my illustration skills to open up venues in the conceptual and character art field which I hope to explore one day.

Employment

CD+M Lighting Design Company, LLC, Atlanta, GA US, Designer

After I finished my co-op I worked freelance for CD+M creating Photoshop renderings remotely. In 2010 I moved back to Atlanta and have been working at an hourly rate as an architectural lighting designer and graphic designer.

My duties include creating Photoshop renderings and InDesign presentations during schematic phases. During production I organize fixture specifications, create layouts in AutoCAD, create calculations and typically perform all aspects of production work. I confer with lighting representatives in the Atlanta area and around the world to insure CD+M's local and international projects have the highest quality possible.

My tools include AutoCAD 2010 to layout designs, AGI32 to test lighting schemes, Microsoft Excel to organize fixture specifications Adobe Photoshop to create renderings, and Adobe Illustrator and InDesign to create presentations.

CD+M Lighting Design Company, LLC, Atlanta, GA, US, Co-op Intern

I learned and applied the fundamental techniques of architectural lighting design. I focused on both large scale international projects such as resorts and amusement parks in Dubai and Seoul, as well as small scale hospitality projects like as restuarants in Atlanta. I helped lead the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology project under the supervision of a co-worker and was exposed to many different architectural and artists’ firms and their methods of design.
