About 

An architect committed to high quality design and construction, the scope of David Seglin's work includes new construction, renovations, and interior design. Providing a full range of architectural services, David has completed residential, commercial, and institutional projects for private and corporate clients, developers, and institutions.

Diverse in type and scale, David's work includes single family residential rehabilitation and new construction, urban and suburban multi-family housing, commercial and institutional structures. Throughout this variety of built work, he demonstrates a continued commitment to and respect for the quality of neighborhoods and community. David's experience with projects of an historic nature is substantial. He is dedicated to preservation and adaptive re-use as evidenced in several projects which illustrate modernization within the context of a unique structure or community.

While developing the reputation as an innovative and sensitive practitioner, David is also a service oriented architect. He explores a variety of problem solving design solutions with each client, while promoting a greater opportunity for the exchange of ideas. David prefers to maintain an active role during the construction phase of his projects. Striving to enhance the working relationship with those in the field, he encourages a team effort among contractor, client, and architect towards the goal of a quality finished product.

David Seglin was a founding principal of HSP/Ltd, a design principal at Bauhs Dring Seglin Main, a Project Architect at Rafael Vinoly Architects and is now a Senior Design Architect with the Samsung Corporation. A graduate of Princeton University and a LEED Accredited Professional, David's work has been exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago Archicenter, the Chicago Athenaeum center for Architecture, and numerous galleries throughout Chicago. His work has been prominently displayed and has received recognition through numerous publications. David has been a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Illinois-Chicago, teaching design at each School of Architecture. He has acted as Chairperson of the Chicago American Institute of Architects Design Committee and has participated on the East Bay, California and Dayton, Ohio architecture awards programs. David has also served as a judge for the Northern Illinois Home Builders Association Honors Program.

David prides himself on being able to satisfy any architectural need while ensuring the direct and personal attention of all those involved. Satisfied clients, he believes, remains his best investment.

Samsung Engineering and Construction Group, Seoul, KR, Senior Design Architect Project Manager

Responsible for the Master Plan design of a mixed-use project in Wuhan, China that includes residential, hospitality, commercial and senior living amenities. Responsible for the coordination and design of healthcare facilities and hospitals in Asia and Europe. Acting as the contact person beginning in Concept Design for the client, design team, engineering consultants and the Building Information Modeling team.
