About

I graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Southern California in 2008 and have a broad range of experience in both internships and professional work experience.  I have a strong architectural design and master planning background with experience ranging from residential and education to master planning and mixed-use building types. I have the following areas of expertise: Planning: Acknowledged expertise in planning larger multi-building environments that range from urban districts to campus environments. Understanding the strategic needs of clients, and how to translate that into comprehensive long-term development programs. A broad understanding of historical planning types and how to apply that reference knowledge to contemporary planning problems. Programming User Needs: Experience Understanding how to translate user needs into specific program requirements that can be effectively used by clients as a foundation to large and small development projects. Public Process Design: Experience working on complex projects that require public review and participation. Understanding how to visually translate complex ideas into clear information that leads to successful collaborative planning processes. Environmental Sustainability: A LEED Certified Professional with experience working on environmentally sustainable projects and the LEED certification of over 10 large projects in the Northern California Area.

As a designer, I am very passionate about my work, constantly learning and pushing myself toward new and innovative techniques.  I am fascinated in the exploration of where all of the design disciplines intersect.

As a student and designer, I have studied Urban Design and Planning in Europe, which was one of the most rewarding experiences I have had.  I also have experience working on very fast paced competitions, both large and small with MADA s.p.a.m. in Los Angeles.  Most recently, I completed an intensive summer session at UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design Graduate Program, to further develop my interest in the intersections of Landscape Architecture, Architecture and Urbanism.   I would say one of my strongest skills would be graphic production, presentation preparation and schematic/conceptual design/site analysis.  Some of my more technical skills include proficiency in AutoCAD 2011, ArchiCAD, 3-D programs such as Sketch-up and Rhino, and advanced skills in graphic programs such as Adobe Illustrator, In-Design and Photoshop,  as well as LEED online and documentation.
