Erik has been involved in the architecture and design profession for over 10 years, with experience in all aspects of architectural design and construction administration for several firms in the Los Angeles area. Most recently, Erik has been a member of the team at Shubin + Donaldson Architects since 2007, where he was elevated to Associate in 2013.
Erik's experience ranges from single family residences to a 40,00sf community center for a non-profit organization in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. His work at Shubin + Donaldson Architects focuses on the design and project management of shell and core upgrades and tenant improvement projects for creative companies throughout California.
Born and raised just outside of Chicago, Erik relocated to Los Angeles in 2000 to begin his architectural studies at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), where he received his Bachelor's of Archiecture in 2004. In 2006, he attended the Bartlett, a part of the University College London in London, UK, where he studied under Phil Watson and Neil Spiller. His thesis, The Electronic Orchard, explored the relationship between creativity and making through the lenses of literature. In 2007, he received his Master's of Architecture in Architectural Design.
