I completed a 4 year undergraduate degree for my Bachelor's in Architectural Studies, then went on to graduate school to get my Master's in Architecture for another 3 years at Kansas University. I recently finished Studio 804 this summer as a capstone professional practice course with the University. More information for this design build course is located in my cover letter and portfolio as well as at studio804.com I can provide references from professors for this project and others if needed.
I am very energetic when it comes to design and planning and have great experience with computer drafting and rendering software. I learned and have used Revit for all 3 years of my Architecture Graduate school. I have done various healthcare and education design projects while in school. These are shown in my Design Portfolio.
Also, while in Studio 804 I picked out all the lighting fixtures for the Center for Design Research project after consulting with various manufacturers and lead the install of all the lighting for this project. All students helped in various ways, but my role was electrical work which included selecting and installing all light fixtures.
For work experience I have done scheduling and inventory for a flooring subcontractor that is listed in my resume as well as visit many construction sites to help installers with materials needed. I also worked in the summer months with a local Architecture firm called Clockwork in Kansas City, MO. There I helped with design development and did some construction work for a home remodel in Mission, KS.
Clockwork Architecture + Design, Summer Intern
Facilitated the design and development of 2 new projects that summer in sketchUp and modeling, and helped with a home remodel on a construction site for about a month.
The University of Kansas, MArch, Architecture
After finishing my undergraduate in Architectural Studies, I chose to continue toward my Master's in Architecture. Undergraduate years (2004-2008). Graduate years (2008-2011). I worked part time during school at various locations in Lawrence, KS. I have had 2 summer internships during school. One with SE Fox + Company, Inc. and one with Clockwork Arch. + Design. In my last year of school I participated in Studio 804, which is a design build studio where students design and build a sustainable building in their final year of school for professional practice. We finished all the final pieces of the construction towards the beginning of this summer.
