Joel Mendelson is licensed to practice Architecture in California and New York State, and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. His career focus has been on urban planning, high-end resorts, mixed-use buildings, residential, institutional, and restaurant design. Joel practiced with Robert A.M. Stern Architects in New York for over nine years, where he was a Senior Associate. In San Francisco, Joel has practiced at Hart Howerton, an architecture and resort-planning firm, and with SB Architects, where he served as the Senior Designer for a major mixed-use project in Beirut. He has also consulted for Page & Turnbull, BAR Architects, and Heller Manus Architects. Joel received a Masters of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelors Degree from Oberlin College. Joel lives in Oakland, California.

As Senior Architect, won an invited competition for a mixed-use development on a marina in Beirut, Lebanon. Project master planning and architecture awarded through Schematic Design and partial Design Development, with project currently in pre-sale. Construction to begin in Spring 2012.
Other design work included resort and residential estate design work in Vietnam and China.
