About

I am a diligent hardworking and honest worker. I enjoy all aspects of architecture but I major in Interior Architecture. I am driven by sustainable design with a high end finish that can be utilized in every aspect of todays living from residential to commercial to public service and the arts.  I am a true believer that form follows function and that with clever manipulation a ordinarily everyday function can be molded into a extraordinary form.

I have true leadership qualities and will flourish when given responsibilities that allow me to show them. I am fair and friendly, I am a great communicator, both to work colleagues, construction teams, clients and have represented the college to the media on tv and the radio and was the student representative to our president.

HABILIS DESIGN LLC, New York, NY, US, Interior Architect + Assistant Designer

A fast paced Interior Architecture and Design firm based in mid-town Manhattan, Habilis Design’s design mantra was to collaborate with clients who's appreciation for the built form matched the passion and precision of the principle designers. This crossed all aspects of design from the built environment, interior and exterior, furniture, lighting, brassware, lighting and technologically. The result being concept driven bespoke projects for a wide array of client types from high end residential to low budget bars and restaurants on the island. My role here was to insure the principle designers vision was translated to a media the client understood, sourcing of FF+E items to suit the concept and co-ordination on site with services and contractors.

Es-See Design, Sligo, Ireland, Interior Architect

As Founding member of Es-See Design, I created a design office which allows the client to become a part of the design process.

The work grew from the economic downturn and how people wished to upgrade their current living situation rather that sell their home and move on. I allowed people to create their dream themselves rather than have it built for them upon purchase
Working through each element of the process together enabled me as an Interior architect to view how different people want to live in their space. The differences, the similarities, the broad spectrum and the fine details. It also engaged me in a communicative way as well as a design aspect.

Hamilton Young Architects, Sligo, Ireland, Interior Architect, Intern

I was extremely lucky to be given the chance to intern at Hamilton Young.

Their approach to education is exceptional and they took me under their wing at every moment during me internship. Hamilton Youngs major design work is within the educational building design, and here I learnt the intristic jigsaw of services that are required in large scale buildings, the sometimes overwhelming quantity of details and specifications. Not one cup of cofffee did I have to make, I didnt have time to

Education

Institute of Technology Sligo (IT Sligo), BArch, Interior Architect

I completed my course with a first class honors degree with an outstanding achievement throughout all of my modules. I was team leader for all group work projects within my class but also within the entire year when we carried out 1 week long intense workshops for students from 1st to final year

Interior Architecture differs from mainstream architecture in that it focuses on the potential for repurposing, restoring, and reimagining existing structures. with this in mind I have become fully aware of many options of re-purposing, concept development, model making, spatial arrangement, re-structuring, detail development, and 3d modeling of both physical and computerized imagery. the course has given me great confidence in presentations and the ability to move forward effectively and efficiently while making correct decisions in every aspect
