I was lead designer in two residential projects in New York. First project was a brownstone remodel in Brooklyn, including a new kitchen and deck area. Second project was a full redesign of an Upper West Side apartment. I was also involved in the conceptual design of a temporary urban farm for unused site in Manhattan.

CISC National University of Ireland Galway, Researcher

As a contract researcher and co-author of a report for the Western Development Commission, I was part of a team assessing the economic impact of the creative industries in the West of Ireland. I carried out interviews, surveys and spatial analysis of local actors and potential growth scenarios for the region.

Imeall Architecture, Architect/Designer

I established my own design studio. Projects include the design and planning of a passive timber cottage on sensitive site in rural County Sligo. The design and tender documentation for lounge bar extension in Galway city. Various house extensions including a planning application for a listed building with a new courtyard development.

As part of the design team I was involved in drawing and detailing a residential project in Melbourne City. The project involved a rear extension to an existing heritage-listed house and incorporated client, local council and water management meetings and liaising.

As part of the design team during my part one apprenticeship and over the following two summers, I was involved in drawing, detailing and reports for residential, commercial and hotel projects. This work required detailed knowledge of local planning issues and building regulations. Responsibilities included compiling feasibility reports, designing and completing projects for planning submissions.

As part of the design team during my part one apprenticeship I was involved in drawing, detailing and reports for residential, commercial and hotel projects throughout the UK. The main project I was involved in was a low energy apartment complex on the Gloucester docks which received excellent eco-home rating.
