After a career in the electronic and printed media, I recently completed a Master of Architecture degree at the University of Illinois in Chicago. My background - as a photographer, a business reporter and a news editor - has significantly influenced my views on architecture as a social practice.
I am dedicated to the idea of sustainability in architecture. Sustainability has recently become a marketing catchphrase for buildings that focus on reducing energy use. However, I believe that good buildings must also be sustainable economically, socially and culturally. And designing good buildings – as broad as that term may seem – is precisely my goal as an architect.
