I am a registered Architect in the State of New York with 30 years plus of experience in design and construction. I have worked on a variety of projects from residential, sports and fitness, medical and commercial projects.
I have a 25 year success record of overseeing the design phases and construction phases of multimillion-dollar buildings; projects for public and private-sector clients. My experience includes producing construction documents, architectural detailing, reviewing documents, preparing documents for coordination and review, coordinating and overseeing meetings, managing contractors on a job site as Project Manager, I have also overseen the work of Task Architects, prepared meeting minutes, lectures and assignments for clients and students. I have overseen and mentored staff in an office setting and student in a classroom setting. My experience is backed by strong credentials and a proven history of on-time and high-quality project assignments and completions; I am a more then qualified for any position related to architecture or construction.
My professional experience started in the office of Skidmore Owning and Merrill in New York as an Assistant Architect. I worked on the Chase Manhattan Bank Plaza in New York, the Chase Building design in Spain, and the Citi Corporation Building in Queens New York. My primary role was architectural detailing, which I am very accomplished in.
My experience embodies over 13 years of college level teaching. I was a full-time Professor are the State University of Farmingdale in New York. In 1985, I began as a part-time evening college Instructor and then became a full time Assistant Professor. I taught courses Architectural Design, Hand drafting, Computer drafting, Construction Documents and Project Management, History of Architecture, and Material and Methods of Construction. I have been a part-time evening time Instructor at Westwood College and ITT College in California. I taught design and computer software, which included AutoCAD, Revit and Inventor. I consider myself an expert in Revit Architecture.
Teaching has helped me improve and retain my graphic, oral, communication and organizational skills. Teaching has enabled me to keep current to the current software in the profession.
My construction background is in residential and commercial construction. I have hands on experience in residential wood framing. I come from a family background in construction; residential construction and renovations. I am knowledgeable in steel framing and reinforced concrete construction and methods. I have worked with both Architects and Structural Engineers.
My experience also includes Construction Management. I have overseen and coordinated construction documents between consultants. I have reviewed and revised documents, and reviewed submittals for progress of work and payment. I work well on site with contractors observing and inputting technical support. I have worked with clients and user groups, coordinating and overseeing the project coordination and progress meetings.
Since 2006, I have been working on a part-time basis, as Consultant working with Architects, Engineers, Consultants and Architectural Students teaching and offering technical support in Revit Architecture and Revit Structures. I teach Revit software and assist in the schematic design, design devolvement and construction documentation of projects.
I have traveled most of the east coast and have lived in the United States Virgin Islands and Los Angeles, California.
I have excellent graphic, written, and oral skills from my background in teaching and consultant work. I am organized and focus and know how to get a job done in an organized and efficient manner. I have great personal and people skills.
I am seeking a position with responsibility and will enable me to continue to use and development my skills and background in architecture and construction.
